Introduction

It seems that residents from the Amle farm and the Hostager farm in Norway were very familiar with each other. There are many instances of Amle men marrying Hostager women in the family trees. In fact, most living Hostagers today are descendents of Amle males. The Amle men took the Hostager name when they moved to the Hostager farm and lived and raised their families there. If they did not take the farm name, today we would all be Amles!

Someday I need to determine if the farm Amle was in close proximity to the Hostager farm.

Arnfinn Perssen/Pedersen Amle and Guri Hansdatter

Arnfinn Perssen/Pedersen Amle and Guri Hansdatter are the first ancestors shown in Hostager Family Tree #1A.

One of Arnfinn's sons, Arnfinn Arnfinnsen Amle, married Anna Gulbrandsdatter Høstager and moved to the Høstager farm. After Anna died, he married another Høstager, Britha Nielsdatter Høstager. All of their children were born Høstagers.
